Plants: Comparing a fruit, a vegetable, and a flower

Because I am home sick, it is the perfect excuse for a new blog post and an update on our plant experiment. My class is an above average class, and so I am always trying to figure out better ways to challenge them, and have them TEACH THEMSELVES. Yes, I said it and I am not taking it back. Kids need opportunities to teach themselves and each other. I personally believe that students learn best when they figure out what they need to know on their own. Adjectives and Poetry

STOP the presses, y'all, I am blogging twice in one week! I am just so excited about my new blog design :)A few weeks ago we studied adjectives and poetry. My students worked on an "I am" poem, describing what they thought of themselves. I told them that "good" was not an option, and that I wanted quality adjectives. New Blog Design

I am over the moon excited that my new blog design is complete! I worked with Beth at the cutest blog on the block and I am ecstatic!  I LOVE everything about it! Best idea ever…

As I'm digging through my desk to find paper clips I come across bobby pins I have in my desk for my hair or the girls in my class in case of emergency. It dawns on me that these will make the BEST spinners! We used them today in class and they turned out way better than paper clips ever have for me! I would definitely reccomend using them as a cheap alternative that you don't have to bend!
