STOP the presses, y’all, I am blogging twice in one week! I am just so excited about my new blog design 🙂
A few weeks ago we studied adjectives and poetry. My students worked on an “I am” poem, describing what they thought of themselves. I told them that “good” was not an option, and that I wanted quality adjectives. You know what they say, “Be careful what you wish for…”. I can honestly say that I LOVED what they came up with, and I have some close up pictures of what they wrote. I got the decorative paper from the dollar tree. That place is wonderful! I got the “Face” papers in a pack from TJ Maxx. They are from Melissa and Doug and they were 3.99….and no I am not kidding. I found them in the toy section, so when you are shopping for a new purse, stop by the toy section and look for some of these. I use them for a lot of things, and they have a variety of different skin colors, which I love. I did find some here if you can’t find them. I also love the set of settings drawing pad. They are great for story telling and writing. List poems are a great way to introduce poetry to the little ones. Here are a few pictures of our poetry and our work!
